Lessons Continue: Meaning Is Healthier Than Happiness

When I went vegetarian and then vegan, I embraced the framing that I was giving things up -- I was "sacrificing" so much for the animals.

It wasn't until later I realized this was a short-sighted view. At the time, I thought that having / acquiring was the basis for life's meaning, so "giving up" anything was inherently a sacrifice. Only later did I come to realize a meaningful life is a joyous life.

There are many aspects to this. Our good friend Charlie sends along this new article: Meaning Is Healthier Than Happiness.
